The First Coast Combat Cup championship game lived up to its billing as two evenly matched squads— Lunas and the Charleston Jr Stingrays—faced off in a thrilling contest.
Lunas wasted no time asserting themselves in the opening frame, when midway through the first period they broke through Charleston’s defense and buried the game’s first goal.
The second period saw a shift in energy as Charleston tightened up defensively and began generating chances of their own. Their persistence paid off when they scored to even the score at 1-1.
Trading Blows in the Third, Lunas regained the lead, but Charleston refused to go quietly and they answered with a clutch goal of their own, knotting the game at 2-2. As the clock was running out, Lunas scored once again to secure the Victory. Final score 3-2
