Big Bear's Firebolt Tournament Showcases Great Hockey and Sportsmanship in Ann Arbor 

December 6-8, 2024 – The Firebolt tournament brought together 38 teams in beautiful Ann Arbor, Michigan. The event was a celebration of great hockey and sportsmanship, with teams competing fiercely across various divisions. Congratulations to all the teams that participated, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for the Big Chill tournament over the MLK break! 

10U Polar Division:The Vernon Hills Ice Dogs emerged victorious in the 10U Polar division, showcasing their skill and determination.

12U Kodiak Division
:
 The Columbus Capitals dominated the 12U Kodiak division, scoring two unmatched goals in the first period and securing a 4-0 shutout victory against the Clearwater Ice Storm. 

12U Grizzly Division: In an exciting 12U Grizzly final, the Plymouth Flyers took an early lead over the North Pittsburgh Wildcats, ending the first period at 3-1. The Flyers added another goal in the second period, and despite a third-period goal from the Wildcats, the Flyers clinched the division title with a 4-2 win. 

12U Polar Division:The 12U Polar final was a nail-biter, with the Canton Akron Jets and Detroit Jimmy Johns each scoring two goals by the end of the second period. The Jets secured the victory with a third goal in the final period, earning them the championship title.

14U Kodiak Division:In the 14U Kodiak division, the Saginaw Jr Spirit faced off against the Northern Kentucky Norse in the Gold Final. The Spirit took an early lead and maintained it throughout the game, securing another championship banner for Michigan.

 

14U Kodiak Silver Division: The 14U Kodiak Silver final featured a thrilling battle between Canadian teams. The Flamborough Sabres opened the scoring and maintained their lead, ultimately defeating the Soo SK Steel 4-2. 

14U Grizzly Division:Fans were on the edge of their seats during the 14U Grizzly final, which saw a scoreless first period. The Decatur Flames broke the deadlock with a goal late in the second period and added three more in the third to secure the championship with a 4-0 victory over the Tri-City Eagles.

16U Gold Division: The Geneva Cyclones took an early lead in the 16U Gold final, but the North Pittsburgh Wildcats responded with four unanswered goals, taking the championship banner home to Pennsylvania.

16U Grizzly Silver Division:The 16U Grizzly Silver final was a thrilling contest. The Las Vegas Ice Warriors scored first, but Fox Motors rallied with three consecutive goals. The Ice Warriors responded with two more goals, tying the game at 3-3 and forcing overtime. Fox Motors clinched the victory with a goal in the final minutes of overtime.

18U Grizzly Division
:
 The 18U Grizzly final was an intense matchup, with the Orillia Terriers scoring four unanswered goals in the first and second periods. The District 155 Predators managed to score in the final moments, but the Terriers held on for a 4-1 win, taking the banner home to Orillia, Ontario.
